| REGULATIONS
- There will be 2 runs. In the first run will start participants, who
have reviewed and signed an agreement with competition rules for the
"The Mad Goat Ride". In this run will compete 45 skiers (men
and women) and 15 snowboarders (men and women). They will be appointed
according to the order of signing in for the Competition. Those, who
remain outside the list of participants, will be included in a “Waiting
list”. If some of the competitors refuses to review and sign an agreement
with the rules of the competition or is not allowed to participate due
to irregularities in documents and other requirements (including age
and equipment requirements) the next one in the waiting list will be
invited to compete.
- Since the contest will be organized according to IFSA Big Mountain
Freeskiing Contest Guidelines the competitors will be judged according
to IFSA Competition Rules in the five categories:
· Choice of Line
· Control
· Fluidity
· Technique
· Aggressiveness
- Every competitor will receive a photo of the curse with marked No
Fall Zones on the Technical Conference before the competition.
- The best 16 men (skiers and snowboarders) and 4 women (skiers and
snowboarders) will compete in the second (final) run.
- In case of bad weather or snow conditions, that prevent the final
run starting, the results from the first run will be taken as final
stranding results.
- Note: If a competitor is late for his/her starting, 5 (five) penalty
points will be subtracted from his/her result.
Competition Fee - 160 EUR
The Competition Fee is payable in cash at the race office in hotel.
The fee includes:
- 3 nights Half Board accommodation,
- 3 days ski lift pass,
- admission to compete
- life and medical insurance for the event
Transportation from and to Sofia Airport / 20 EUR / can be arranged if
you contact us at least one week in advance
Age requirements
Competitors should be with a minimum age of 18, in case of approval by
the parents with a minimum age of 16.
Release of Liability and Insurance
All competitors must sign a liability form and a copyright release at
the event registration.
Please review carefully the following BEFSA RULES FOR RELATIONS BETWEEN
COMPETITORS AND ORGANIZERS AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY, since you will have
to sign them if you would like to participate in the competition.
BEFSA RULES FOR RELATIONS BETWEEN COMPETITORS AND ORGANIZERS
AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY
This is Bulgarian Extreme and Freestyle Skiing Association (BEFSA) Release
of liability and waiver of certain legal rights, and Rules for relations
between Competitors and Organizers. It is line with the “IFSA release
of liability and waiver” and BEFSA acknowledge fully that the original
text has been written by the International Free Skiers Association. Please
read carefully.
1. Being at least 18 years old. Competitors under the age of 18 are admitted
to compete only with a signed declaration by either parents or legal guardian.
2. Competitor warrants and represents that he / she is in good health
and there are no special problems associated with the care of the Competitor
and the undersigned parent / guardian has left no special instructions
regarding the Competitor.
3. Competitor accepts and understands that alpine skiing in its various
forms / extreme or freeride / is a hazardous sport that has many dangers
and risks. Competitor freely accepts and voluntarily assumes all risks
of personal injury or death or for property damage, which results in any
way from negligence, conditions on or about the premises and facilities.
4. Competitor agrees with the premise that Competitor is a competitor
at all times, whether practicing for competition or in competition. Competitor
agrees that he / she is always provided an opportunity to conduct a reasonable
visual inspection of the training and race course.
5. Competitor understands that he / she will be held to assume the risk
of all course conditions, course construction or layout and obstacles.
6. Competitor assumes the risk of any injury to person or property resulting
from any of the inherent dangers and risks of skiing and may not recover
from any BEFSA / Bulgarian Extreme and Freestyle Skiing Association /
employee or Director for any injury resulting from any of the inherent
dangers and risks of skiing including:* Changing weather conditions* Existing
and changing snow conditions* Bare spots* Rocks, stumps, trees* Collisions
with natural objects, man - made objects, or other skiers* Variations
on terrain* The failure of skiers to ski within their own abilities
7. Competitor’ authorizes BEFSA / Bulgarian Extreme and Freestyle Skiing
Association / and / or its authorized personnel to call for medical care
for him / her or to transport him / her to a medical facility or hospital
if in the opinion of such personnel , medical attention is needed for
him / her .Competitor agrees that upon his / her transport to any such
medical facility or hospital that BEFSA / Bulgarian Extreme and Freestyle
Ski Association / shall not have any further responsibility for him /
her. Competitor agrees to pay all costs associated with such medical care
and related transportation provided for him / her and shall indemnify
and hold harmless BEFSA of and from any costs incurred therein. Medical
care for him / her done by Bulgarian Mountain Rescue Service in the area
of the competition resort and transportation to any medical facility or
hospital is reimbursed to the Bulgarian Mountain Rescue Service by the
competitor or the competitor’s Life Insurance. BEFSA is not responsible
for any costs incurred by the Competitor in this respect.
8. All Competitors must have to Life Insurance for continuation of the
Competition.
9. Competitor contractually agrees that any and all disputes between himself
/ herself and BEFSA arising from his / her use of equipment and / or participation
in the activity or use of this equipment, and including and claims for
personal injury and / or death , will be governed by the laws of the Republic
of Bulgaria.
10. In the event any section of the “BEFSA - Rules for relations between
competitors and organizers and release of liability” is found to be unenforceable,
the remaining terms shall be fully enforceable.
11. The "BEFSA - Rules for relations between competitors and organizers
and release of liability" shall be binding to the fullest extent
permitted by Law.
12. The "BEFSA - Rules for relations between competitors and organizers
and release of liability" shall be binding upon Competitor's assignees,
heirs, next of kin, and execution, personal representatives and administrators,
and may be pled by BEFSA / Bulgarian Extreme and Freestyle Skiing Association
/ as a complete bar and defence against any claim, demand, action or causes
of action by or on behalf of the Competitor.
13. Competitors must ski / snowboard with normal skiing / snowboard equipment
and must wear a ski helmet, backpack with hard back and / or backbone
protection.
14. In case that the Competitor does not have an avalanche beacon, he
/ she must sign a declaration that he / she assumes the risk involved
and bears full responsibility of his / her action.
Equipment requirements
· Helmet - certified ski-racing helmet
· Backbone protector or hard backpack protecting the spine from injury
· Avalanche beacon
