The Mad Goat Ride 2006
Free Spirit Week
04 – 12 February 2006

After throwing up 3 international and 4 national freeride competitions and a bunch of freestyle events, we at the Bulgarian Extreme and FreeSkiing Association (BEFSA) came up with the radically new idea for the region. Motivated by the freeskiing, snowboard and telemark festivals held around the Alps, we want to bring together the free spirit riders from all over the world, no matter if they ride on skis, snowboards and teleskis, to a pure spot high in the Bulgarian mountains under the motto - pure mountain, free spirit riding, good friends and hard party.

For a week skiers, snowboarders, telemarkers, and mountain bikers will get together in order to feel the real spirit of the free sports in an environment as less restricting as possible - an opportunity to get in touch with the pure nature and express their own attitude towards the sport – in complete freedom.

Latest news:

Last "checking" of the slopes - 15.01.2006. There is enough snow on both qualification and final slopes. Weather forecasts are also good - some snow in a few days and then cold and clear weather again. Below you may see the latest pics:

The Slope for National Freeride Competition and Qualifications for the Foreign competitors (according to IFSA rules) on 15.01.2006.

The same slope but viewed sideways

The "big" slope for the finals (in shade) and the place where the audience will stay (in sun). This point is about an hour easy walking from the hut. The final slope a little bit more, but mountaineers are used to this:)

Do you have the guts?
